Sunita Bista is my cousin, my late uncle's daughter. She is 29 years old and lives in Nala Banepa, Nepal. On March 30th, 2022, she was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), and went through chemotherapy (4 sessions) treatment and the cancer was in complete remission. However, after 7 months of remission, on April 13th, 2023, her cancer relapsed. The doctors have recommended bone marrow transplant. Before going through the transplant, her bone marrow cannot contain any cancer cells, and she is currently undergoing additional chemotherapy treatments in Nepal to be able to undergo the transplant.

Due to slow process and long wait times in Nepal, the doctors have advised that we take her to India for the transplant. Bone marrow transplant costs are estimated to be around 3 million INR (approximately $37,000 USD) and her extended hospital stays and maintenance therapies afterwards add to the financial worries. There are some viral infections that she's almost guaranteed to contract post-transplant with an estimated treatment cost of around 1.8 million INR (approximately $21,000 USD). She, along with her husband, has been able to bear the costs so far, but however, their financial options have all been exhausted and are in dire need of help. Sunita's youngest sister, Pratima Bista, will be donating her bone marrow as she is a 100% match.

Sunita is young, intelligent, hard-working, kind-hearted, and is the most vibrant and innocent human being I have ever met. Her smile is infectious, and her heart is pure. We are all working diligently to help her get a new life and defeat this illness, and we will be immensely and eternally grateful for any financial and emotional support that you can provide during these challenging times.
