My big sister is sick, very very sick. She was recently diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. The most aggressive form of breast cancer. Kelley is just 42 years old and the strongest, most independent woman, and kindest human I know. She has been a loving and hard working single mother for 18 years. She is an amazing nurse at a live in care center and her patients adore her almost as much as she does them. Kelley has been through many challenges in her life and she has always come out on top. I love her more than words and I feel helpless at this time. I don't know how I can truly help her through such a life altering journey, so I've decided to do this. Kelley has had to stop working in order to qualify for medicaid to cover her treatment. The cancer has also been found in several lymph nodes. The doctors are being cautiously optimistic and very, very aggressive. The treatment plan is daunting, but she's ready to take it head on. After 6 months of intense chemo, she will be having a double mastectomy, followed by 3 months of radiation, and then 4 more months of chemo after that. If all goes as planned she is facing approximately 14 months of debilitating treatments and surgeries. She is growing sicker and sicker with every Chemo session and as of right now, she couldn't work if she wanted to. I know finances are a huge stress on her. If we could raise enough to cover her rent and basic bills for the next year it would greatly relieve some of this stress and help her focus on just being here with her family and getting well. Thankyou in advance for anything you are able to give. I will do my best to share updates through her journey.
