PLEASE HELP MY SISTER ELLEN ROSEN BELLO!

My sister Ellen has suffered a number of devastating losses in the past three years most recently and the hardest was losing her wonderful husband Gordon of 35 plus years last month.

Gordon had Parkinsons for over a decade which forced him to quit his job a few years ago so Ellen and he we’re just living on her salary as a Hebrew School teacher. (She taught Hebrew school kindergarten for over 30 years!) Then Gordon had had a horrible fall in 2021 which paralyzed him from the neck down which then put him in Hospice Care in 2021. On a single early childhood teacher’s salary they couldn’t afford the hospice care.

Medicaid told Ellen that Gordon would qualify to be covered only if she had zero income, so Ellen was forced into retirement (also meaning no unemployment!). ONLY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is this a thing!

Gordon then hung on for three long years in Hospice care until he sadly passed on February 10th 2024. Ellen took care of him the entire time never letting a day go by without spending hours at the hospice with him.

The only income Ellen had over the last three years was Gordon’s social security payments which are now gone with his passing.

As you can imagine she is now in dire financial straits and has limited funds and limited ability due to her own health issues to get employment and be able to just pay her basic expenses. All this was still obviously suffering from the loss of the love of her life just a few short weeks ago.

She doesn’t like to ask people for help so I am asking for her-- Can you please spare a few dollars to help Ellen get back on her feet? My big sister has always helped me so please help me help her! Anything at all would be greatly appreciated.
