Hi, my name is Gracie McAllister.

I am 23 years old and have been participating in sports since I was 3.

I learned how to skate practically before I could walk. I played hockey for 18 years (nearly all of those as a goalie) as well as rugby for the past 10 yrs.

I am currently playing rugby for UBC. Sports are my passion. I have always been very athletic. I love and live to play sports. I have been very fortunate to have the love and support of my family.

Recently, tragedy struck, and my life was turned upside down with the sudden and unexpected passing of my Dad last year. I have lost a big part of my support system. For years, he was my coach in hockey. Teaching me how to be and do my best whenever I was on the ice. My Dad was a huge help financially. Sports are very expensive. He was always there to help fund all of my athletic pursuits. Since his passing, I have been fully financially supporting myself. It has been a real struggle to keep my university studies going, plus all the demands of training while working, by picking up gig work wherever I can find it.

Recently, I competed in the RBC Training Ground and was identified by Bobsleigh Skeleton Canada as a prospect for the Canadian bobsled program. My ultimate goal is to compete for Canada on the Women's Bobsled Team in the 2030 Winter Olympics in France. My bobsled training commitments are a financial hardship. Having no extra financial help from other sources now, and being unable to have a full-time job while attending school, training and the necessary Bobsled camps. I've set up this fundraising page to help offset the costs. Any money donated would go towards my needs for the sport. Ice spikes, racing spikes, a speed suit, burn vest, helmet, travel costs, accommodations, competitions, sled rentals/sled transport, snow gear. All extra costs and fees associated with training and competition.
