Please help my nephew Zion

Hi, my name is Regina. I am starting this fundraiser to help out my sister, Amanda, and my nephew Zion. Zion was born on May 30th and is premature. He was born 12 weeks early and has a ton of medical complications.

Zion has been diagnosed with Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH)

IVH refers to bleeding in the brain and is most common in the smallest premature babies (those weighing less than 3 1/3 pounds). The bleeds usually occur in the first four days of life. Bleeding generally occurs near the fluid-filled spaces (ventricles) in the center of the brain. An ultrasound examination can show whether a baby has had a brain bleed and how severe it is.

Brain bleeds usually are given a number from 1 to 4, with 4 being the most severe. Most brain bleeds are mild (grades 1 and 2) and resolve themselves with no or few lasting problems. More severe bleeds can cause difficulties for the baby during hospitalization and possible problems in the future. Some will require careful monitoring of the baby's development throughout infancy and childhood. Zion is at level 3.

My sister Amanda also went through medical problems. She had preeclampsia which caused her to go into labor early and had an emergency C-section. The C-section went wrong, and she ended up having to have a hysterectomy. Amanda before having Zion was in the hospital for almost 2 months and has been hard for her to work. Amanda is now struggling to get back in forth from the hospital and it is over an hour and a half away from her home.

Although Amanda has been discharged, Zion is still at Seattle Children’s and will be there until August.

We are asking people to donate to help with Zions. Medical cost, Amanda’s medical cost, and to help her. This is a very difficult time for our family and Amanda.

Amanda has to drive to Seattle Children’s to be with Zion every day and since gas is so much I would love to help her.

Also since Zion came early Amanda didn’t have time to get the essentials for him. Such as a crib, bottles, formula and diapers If you can donate we would appreciate it. If you can only share that is great too.
