The day after Christmas, my mom had a double lung biopsy for nodules that had grown in size. By all accounts, after the biopsy, the doctor was certain and advised us that it was benign, but it would still be sent off to pathology. Today, on New Year’s Day, she got a report through the portal from her doctor's office stating that is ABSOLUTELY not the case and she DOES has Small-cell lung carcinoma (lung cancer).

She’s never smoked a cigarette a day in her life.

This past year, my mother has filed for divorce from someone she’s spent half her life with. She was given a days notice to out of her home by her soon-to-be ex-husband. 28 years of memories still left there from the life they’d built together. She has no income because, due to numerous health conditions on top of her lung issues, she is unable to work. She is scheduled to have a thyroid biopsy for possible thyroid cancer as well. AND another surgery which could potentially turn into a much more complicated surgery due to that issue. She is barely getting enough in temporary alimony to literally only pay her rent. Not her medicine. Not her deductibles she’s required to pay before they can even start to biopsy, follow up, and more. It all is out of pocket and I will be doing every single thing I can personally to help her financially, but I am praying and know there are still GOOD people out there that can help. I am humbly asking to please help in any way you can, no matter if it’s $1. Every bit of it will be going to her for medicine, surgeries, doctor copays, and to keep a roof over her head. This was never supposed to happen and I am beside myself. If you read all this, it means everything to me. If you can’t donate, that is absolutely okay. Please pray for her and put her on your prayer list at church. Please pray the Lord touches and heals her. I know what would happen if I lose my mom, and I can tell you, I won’t be here if she’s not.
