Hello everyone. My name is Barbara and I am doing this fundraiser for my mother. Sonia Tigero.

As some of you already know, she was involved in a terrible car accident while on her way to work the morning of January 20th.

The accident was declared by the authorities as “hit and run”. Took place on I-95 at high speed. A reckless driver crossed lines abruptly. Causing her to crash onto him/her and right after escaping the scene.

My mother’s instinct was to try her best to avoid this crash and ended up hitting a Mack truck.

All bags deployed, the car was total loss, and she can still recall the sound of the “explosion”.

She was rushed to the hospital where they found out the extent of the injuries she suffered.

Her ankle broke, ligaments ruptured and tendons tore.

Bruises were all over her body specially the sternum where it was difficult for her to breath comfortably for the first month.

Two months have passed since the collision and she still cannot bear any weight on her foot. As her Doctor states “you did a number on that leg”. Her way to recovery has been prolonged longer than expected.

My mother is a hard working woman. Even though she is unable to perform as a chef as of right now. She has put all her time and efforts towards her dream of creating an Ayurvedic culinary school. Her only intention is to be at service of the community. Help others in their journey towards the balance of body and mind by attacking the root of imbalances. She is passionate about sharing and pouring the wisdom of the ancient science of Ayurveda.

Her knowledge and experience in this field is vast. She has helped heal so many and I am the witness of that fact.

Please help her though this difficult situation while she recuperates.

I estimated this amount to cover her expenses for 4/5 months. In hope that she would be able to go back to work within that period.
