Hi. My name is Jen Armenta. I’m setting up this fundraiser for my sweet mom, Kathie Gammage. She was diagnosed in May 2015 with Triple Negative Breast cancer. She went through 16 rounds of the Red Devil, a double mastectomy, and the 5 weeks of radiation. We thought she was in the clear (follow up scans have been clear). In June of this year she noticed what looked/felt like a small pimple near her clavicle. It turns out it was a tumor that was doubling in size month over month. Now only is it growing at a rapid rate, they’re unable to determine the type of cancer. The biopsies were sent to multiple labs and the specialists are perplexed. The tumor has wrapped around her clavicle and is inhibiting her movement in her left arm, not to mention the pain involved. DUE TO THE RATE OF GROWTH THEY ARE PERFORMING EMERGENCY SURGERY WEDNESDAY 10/12.

Right before she was diagnosed in 2016, her and her husband sold EVERYTHING (including their house in 2 days) so that they could fulfill their dream of moving to Arizona. Well, she was diagnosed and they had to stay in Michigan to keep her husband's insurance so she could get treatment. Even with insurance, the co-pays for doctor, hospital, screening, meds, radiation, chemo, etc caused them to drain their savings. They saved their money and decided to continue with their dream of moving to the southwest. Well, they’ve been here for just over 3 years and she’s been smacked with this damn disease again.

My mom has not had the easiest life…at all. She had a childhood complete with abusive parents, assault and a stint in our great foster system. But she has always busted her ass to provide for her kids. And when I mean busted her ass…she worked multiple jobs if the need was there in addition to raising 4 kids.

My mom is everything. She would be way too proud to ever ask for help. Good things I’m not.

All funds collected will go toward medical bills, prescriptions, and groceries.
