Please Help My Mom to Fight

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Alasha. My mother, Cassandra Bartley has fallen gravely ill.

A few years ago, I moved back home because my mom's health had begun to decline, and a car accident had begun to hamper her mobility.

Fast forward to the pandemic, we both fell ill. But with her already complicated health, she's been suffering from long Covid. She had to stop working and accessing her short and long term disability has been an ongoing nightmare.

Because I'm a pretty anxious person, my brother and I have been trying to get her to get her affairs in order and on paper so that we could properly make sure she's taken care of. But those of you who know her know that she's stubborn, and does things on her own time.

I more or less had to force her to come to the hospital a few days ago, since she wasn't really able to do anything for herself at home. She kept saying that she didn't want to go, but eventually she got tired of fussing with us, and agreed to let the ambulance take her to get help

Long story short, she's now incapacitated and we are hamstrung with regard to handling her affairs. Best case scenario, she will need long term care in a facility, and home health care in a home more suitable for her physical limitations, as our current home probably won't cut it. The problem is that her insurance will only cover home health care for 120 days, that's *if* we get that far. Again, this is the best case scenario.

Worst case would be that last appointment we all will have to make. That's staring us in the face as well. She's on a ventilator, and emergency dialysis has taken a lot out of her. We want to keep her as comfortable and as supported as possible, but with no access to her estate affairs and bills coming due, I don't know how we will be able to keep all these balls in the air.

I know this is pretty long, but this is all to say that we humbly come to you for help. Those of you who know Cassandra know she'd be mad at me for asking, but still grateful for anything you can offer. If she's made you laugh, made you smile, or even fussed you out and came back to apologize in her own grumpy way, please consider giving. If you didn't know her, of course we'd appreciate your help as well.

I appreciate you reading all of this and my heart is so full of gratitude for everyone who has given us support as of late. Thank you so much.
