Please Help My Mom - She Has Lung Cancer

Hey there,

My name is Caleb, and someone incredibly important to me needs your support. My mom, Teresa Meredith, is going through an incredibly tough time. She's been diagnosed with lung cancer, and financially our family is in dire straights.

My mom is a dedicated travel nurse who had to give up her work after the diagnosis. It hit her hard. She had to leave behind her apartment in Ann Arbor and come back to her house in Illinois, which is literally falling apart. The roof needs fixing, the boiler system is ancient and leaking meaning they don't have heat, and the attic is barely insulated, and a bunch of other minor repairs that makes the whole place feel desolate. It feels like one thing after another, you know?

To make matters worse, she's almost out of money. She had some savings, but with the mortgage and utilities alone costing over $1,500 each month, we are almost out. We have about 1-2 months before we are out of money. I have tried to provide as much as I can, buying a new refrigerator for them to replace the broke one, investing in other repairs and wracking up almost 4k in credit card debt doing it, but I'm out of funds at this point. And my mom isn't just responsible for herself. She's a single mother taking care of four kids, including two who still depend on her. She's always been an amazing mother, able to provide for us even in the worst of circumstances, but at this point she is needing our support so she can heal.

My mom is an inspiration to me. She worked her ass off to become a nurse while being a single mom, working extra shifts as a CNA just to make ends meet. Her strength has always blown me away. What she's had to endure for me and my siblings to provide us with a great life is something I will always carry in my heart. I only wish there was more I could do for her now that she needs me.

That's why I'm reaching out to you today. The funds we raise will go towards fixing the roof, and paying the mortgage plus food, insurance and other costs while my mom is unable to work.

I can't stress enough how crucial your support is. She's faced incredible challenges in her life. I wish I could go into details here so you'd know just what an incredible person she is and how much she's overcome. She has never asked for help from anyone before.
