Please Help My Mom Lay Her Mother to Rest
It’s with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my grandmother. This loss has shaken our family in ways we’re still trying to understand.
She is over 400 miles away, and my mom is doing everything she can to get there—to say goodbye, to lay her mother to rest, and to be there for her brother, who had been caring for my grandmother and is now completely lost without her. They are both grieving deeply, and right now, they only have each other.
Many of you know my mom and the kind of person she is. She has spent years working in the funeral industry, helping other families through their darkest moments with compassion, strength, and grace. She has held space for so many people in their grief… but somehow, that doesn’t make this any easier for her. If anything, it makes the loss feel even heavier. She is absolutely heartbroken.
All I want is for her to have the chance to grieve her mother in peace—to not have to worry about how she’s going to afford the trip, the funeral costs, the food, or the time away from work. Right now, those financial stresses are weighing on her during a time when she should only be focused on saying goodbye and healing.
I’m asking, from the bottom of my heart, for any support you can give. No amount is too small. Every single contribution will go toward helping my mom travel, cover the burial expenses, and simply have a moment to breathe during this unimaginable time.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness means more than words can express.
My mom is one of the most selfless, loving people I know. She has always shown up for others—now I’m just hoping we can show up for her.
Thank you for your love, your compassion, and your support
With gratitude,
Kathryn Aubrie, Elizabeth and Kayla
May god bless you in your times of darkness.
