Phew... it is harder than I thought...but here we go... My Mom, Obachan, your friend, the ear and the shoulder found out and was diagnosed with cancer phase 4, the latest stage, a few months ago. As you know her, she didn't want anybody to know, because she didn't want to bother. She was willing to go through this alone! Suffering and enduring all the pain alone. Not wanting her journey to end, confused, resigned to be the end she didn't want for herself. But as Mom says, the ways of God are mysterious. We found out. It took her some time for this overwhelming experience to sink in, to process all this. Little by little she saw that going through this journey with family and friends that love her and cherish her was a lot easier. She is very adamant about her beliefs and doesn't want to go through the debilitating and horrendous conventional treatments, even more so at this stage. She prefers quality of life! And we, her children support her 1000%. We have done our homework about non-conventional treatment and she has decided to go that route. She has found hope, more than she would imagine. However, it is at a cost as everything in life. Unfortunately, my mom stresses herself out when money is not enough. Not being able to work and the lack of financial income added with the everyday expenses plus treatment, plus the quality of food for her cancer to not keep advancing is extremely overwhelming and counterproductive for her health. She can't avoid it, it is stressful. Even though, she is doing terrifically to keep herself with a good attitude and in a good mood. But sometimes it is worrisome to not know if we have enough to keep going with the treatments and everyday expenses. She still has some affairs to take care of, a lot of people she would like to see and reunite with before enjoying life in another place. We have hope, she is young, beautiful, and has the desire to live. She has so many plans, we have so many plans. We are celebrating her grandsons' 1st and 5th birthdays this year, her granddaughter’s big 15th, and we will like her to celebrate with us, to be with us. We would like to see her with energy again, smiling and pain-free. At this stage cancer moves a lot quicker than any other stage, that is why we should act fast to slow down the spreading. We humbly come to you for help. Any amount helps! To know that she has the support of friends and family and more, even good and positive thoughts are gladly received! No queriendo que su viaje terminara, confundida, resignada a ser el final que no quería para ella. Pero como dice mamá, los caminos de Dios son misteriosos. Nos dimos cuenta. Le tomó algún tiempo asimilar esta abrumadora experiencia, procesar todo esto. Poco a poco vio que recorrer este camino con familiares y amigos que la quieren y la aprecian es mucho más fácil. Pero a veces es preocupante no saber si tenemos suficiente para seguir con los tratamientos y los gastos del día a día. Todavía tiene algunos asuntos que atender, muchas personas a las que le gustaría ver y reunirse antes de disfrutar de la vida en otro lugar. Tenemos esperanza, ella es joven, hermosa y tiene ganas de vivir. Ella tiene tantos planes, nosotros tenemos tantos planes. Este año estamos celebrando el 1° y 5° cumpleaños de sus nietos, el gran 15° de su nieta, y nos gustaría que festeje con nosotros, que esté con nosotros.
