Hi, my name is Eliana, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mom, Angie.

This is really hard for me to write because my mom is the strongest person I know. She’s the one who holds our whole world together. She works full-time, she goes to school, she takes care of me and my siblings, and she still somehow finds the energy to cook dinner, help with homework, and make sure everyone else is okay—even when she isn’t.

But right now… my mom needs help.

What Happened

A little while ago, my mom lost her job unexpectedly. It changed everything in our home. I see her trying to stay positive, even when she’s worried about how she’s going to pay the rent, keep the lights on, or cover the bills that keep stacking up.

She keeps applying to jobs every day. She keeps going to school because she’s working so hard to become a social worker and addiction counselor—so she can help other families the way she’s always helped ours. She refuses to give up, even when I know she’s exhausted and scared.

I’ve heard her crying quietly at night when she thinks no one can hear her.

I’ve watched her budgeting and rebudgeting, trying to make every dollar stretch.

I’ve seen her pretending everything is fine so I won’t worry.

My mom is trying so hard to stay strong, but I can see how much she’s hurting.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I’m creating this emergency fund because my mom would never ask for help for herself—but I will. I want to take some of this weight off of her shoulders.

The money raised will help us with:

    •    Rent and utilities

    •    Groceries

    •    School and household expenses

    •    Transportation

    •    Bills that she’s falling behind on

I just want my mom to breathe again. I want her to sleep without crying. I want her to be able to stay in school and finish the career she has worked so hard for. I don’t want her to lose everything she’s been fighting to build.

My mom gives so much to everyone. She helps people for a living. She never turns her back on anyone. She is kind, caring, and the reason our family stays strong.
