Hello friends and family from all over!
As some of you may know my mother, Ildiko Horvath, has been diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease (Scleroderma) that is attacking her heart and her lungs. Because of this her Lungs are shutting down and there is not enough oxygen flow between her two organs, making it very very difficult for her to breath without an oxygen tank.
She is currently up in Anchorage, Alaska waiting to get approved for federal Disability so that we can move her closer to Portland so that I can help take care of her. In the meantime, she is unemployed and living off her savings. Luckily, her insurance has covered just about every medical expense and the state has been working with her in many ways to assure that she gets the best possible medical care. Though there is no cure, they are working on finding her a comfortable treatment.
In the meantime, she is on oxygen for about 24 hours a day. The oxygen tank that her insurance approved is too heavy, loud, and generally a burden for her to carry around as it has become difficult for her to walk or carry things very far.
Which brings me to this gofundme.....
My mother has been my rock, my families rock and for those that have known her for years, I am positive that she has touched your life in one way or another. Unfortunately, I am not made of money, but if I was I would give her the world. This is where I ask for your help. I am trying to raise about $3000 to purchase a very reputable oxygen machine that only weights 3.29lbs. The machine itself is easy to carry around, quiet, approved for flying, and is overall a huge upgrade from what she is currently using. If you are able to donate any amount, I would so greatly appreciate your help, every little bit helps.
Thank you all so much for the support you have shown along the way. This hasn't been easy for our family and it certainly hasn't been easy for my mom. With that said, she is one of the strongest women I have ever met and her spirits are high. She hasn't lost hope and most importantly she has a great support system. I appreciate every single one of you and we are very lucky to have met so many amazing individuals along this crazy journey that we call life!
