Hi everyone,
On March 24th, my mom suffered from a major brain stroke while working at a nail salon in Marina del Rey, CA. She was taken to the emergency room and had immediate surgery to try and stop the bleeding, but the damage to her brain was extensive. Due to the injury to her brain, she went into a coma and finally opened her eyes after 7 days. She was hospitalized in the ICU for about 2 1/2 more weeks after regaining consciousness, before recently being moved to a rehab center. Currently, she is conscious and working on physical therapy but her memories, speech, and motor skills on the right side of her body have been severely affected.
To this day, we still don't know what caused the stroke as it happened out of the blue and my mom had no prior symptoms leading up to it. My family is going through the hardest time right now, as my parents both worked multiple jobs but now no one is able to work. My dad has been taking care of my mom 24/7 at the hospital, my 16-year-old brother has been living at home and going to school by himself, and I am in Colorado trying to finish up my junior year of college. The medical bills have been substantial and are still accumulating for as long as my mom is being treated.
Please pray for my mom as she has a very long road of recovery ahead. My family and I would appreciate any and all support. Anything helps. Thank you.
