Please Help My Miracle Kitty

Short Story: My dear cat Suki needed emergency, life-saving surgery to stop internal bleeding caused by a cyst attached to her liver. The surgery was deemed successful, the veterinarians are describing her as a miracle for even making it through. Although not out of the woods yet and still under careful supervision, Suki is making steady progress. The cost of the surgery and overall care is over 15,000$ and I humbly ask for the world's help in keeping my miracle baby going. For a more detailed Suki story keep reading. Thank you.

Detailed Story: If you know me, then you know Suki. Even if you don't know me, you probably still know Suki. Three years ago my mom and I walked into a Petco to quickly grab dog food and we stumbled upon the cutest, scraggliest little kitty. It was love at first sight, I knew she was meant for me and I was meant for her. We could take care of each other... and that's what we did.

Suki became my ESA and I devoted myself to her. I started working at a pet store to learn more about cat care and be able to give her the best life possible like she was doing for me, even if she didn't realize it. I acquired top-of-the-line insurance and created the safest and most comfortable environment imaginable. Suki loves everyone. Most people say that about their pets, but really, Suki loves everyone. When people told me "Oh I don't like cats..." I would follow up with "Just wait until you meet Suki." Without fail, Suki always managed to change a person's mind and show them how beautiful a cat's love could be. I am lucky to say I have been able to receive that love and I do not know what I would do without it.

Despite her being very underweight upon adoption, Suki has been a very healthy kitty. She eats well and loves treats. She will run up and down the apartment chasing toys and even likes to play fetch. However, over the past couple of days, her health has sharply declined. As soon as I noticed something was off, I rushed her to the vet and was informed that Suki has a large mass in her stomach causing internal bleeding. After countless tests, including an ultrasound, X-Ray, and a CT, the vet discovered Suki has a congenital cyst attached to her liver and that normally cats with this condition die in utero or as a kitten, so it was a miracle Suki was even alive today. The vet gave me two options; emergency surgery or euthanasia. I chose surgery, I had to try. Even then, however, the surgery was very risky and could not guarantee success, but I could not say goodbye to my sweet baby without at least trying.

Three surgeons worked on Suki and with another miracle, Suki survived. Even though she is still in the animal hospital and is being closely monitored, the vet said she was "kicking butt" and making steady progress. Anything is possible and although we are not out of the woods yet, my hope for Suki is strong. It was a miracle she made it to three, a miracle she survived the surgery, and I'm hoping she will continue to be the miracle she is.

However, care is not without cost. Even with the best insurance, the out-of-pocket expense for her has totaled 15,000$ and has the possibility of going up depending on her condition. I wish I had this sort of money, but I don't. I recently graduated college and work a retail position, so paying my rent is hard enough, let alone these bills. Please help me help Suki. Help her continue to be the miracle she is. Anything helps, but please share to get more outreach. Thank you for reading. <3
