Please help my loving boy Willy. He’s hurting

Hi my name is Connie, those who know me have seen posts of my best friend in the world, my dog Willy. He went to Dillsburg veterinary office on 10/1/22, It was determined that he may have a torn ACL and was scheduled for X-rays to diagnose the problem on 10/13/22. I took him back to the vet again on 10/7/22 for eye infection follow up. When I tried to get him into the car he tried to leap into the backseat and suddenly screamed and fell to the driveway because of his left hind knee issue. I managed to get him into the car into the vets office, I told them about the fall but no x-rays were taken on that day because he allowed Dr. Amber to manipulate the leg. Yesterday he ran across my linoleum floor and slid and fell and started screaming again. At this point his leg was dangling uselessly. He allowed me to handle the leg and put ice on it so I thought he would be OK until Monday to call the Dillsburg veterinary office. Also when I had called the emergency animal hospitals I was told there would be up to a five hour wait and I did not want to stress him out.

this morning I knew there was a major problem with his hind leg, it was very swollen and still dangling uselessly.

So we took him to Shores emergency veterinary Center Hospital. After doing x-rays they determined that he has a broken femur and the 2 bones are rubbing together and causing extreme pain. They can do surgery to insert a plate to hold the two bones in place, or they can amputate his leg. They did not recommend amputation because of his age. They cannot put a cast on the leg either, so I chose to pay $3000 to leave him at the hospital until he can have surgery on Tuesday. The surgery is estimated to be close to $8000. I cannot afford to pay for this. But I love my Willy with all my heart and I can’t abandon him. So I am reaching out to you my Facebook friends for help. If they fix the broken leg that will not fix the possible ACL injury which would need to be addressed at a later time. I have used a large amount of my savings already and I don’t know what to do. So I am reaching out and begging all of those who have seen pictures of my boy on Facebook to please help, this is not an easy thing for me to do. I don’t think it’s time to put him down so I am begging for anybody that can afford to contribute to help me and my boy.
