My 20-year-old son, Damian, was driving home from work in Colorado when his truck went off the road into a ravine. He was unresponsive and had to be airlifted to the hospital after rescuers struggled to reach him. Siri’s crash detection is what alerted emergency services—without it, they may not have been found in time.
He is now facing a long recovery, unable to work for months, with overwhelming medical bills, rehab ahead, and the loss of his truck, tools, and everything he used for work.
And just as we were trying to process all of this, our family was hit again. Only two days after Damian was discharged, my 23-year-old daughter, Khyla, was involved in a serious accident where she was T-boned on the driver’s side. She suffered a bicondylar tibial plateau fracture and is now facing surgery this Thursday, followed by about 12 weeks of recovery and physical therapy. Her car was totaled, and the driver who hit her had no insurance. She is now at risk of losing the apartment she worked so hard for.
As their mom, I’ve had to step away from work to care for both of them—emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Our family is doing everything we can, and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support around us, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
We are asking for any help—donations, shares, or prayers—to help cover medical expenses and support my children through recovery.
Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
❤️- Maria and family
