Please Help my Juliette
Donation protected
My name is Chaela Lancia, and I am raising money for my dog, Juliette, and her vet bills.
We got Juliette when our first dog Romeo was five years old. At first, Romeo wanted nothing to do with her. Every time she got close, he would growl and snap. But Juliette is very persistent and kept on trying. It's been six years since then, and they are the bestest of friends. Romeo acts like an older brother who doesn't care, but really, he loves playing with her. They would play all the time while making so much noise. It was hilarious. And Juliette wouldn't go anywhere without her older brother. Not even to the bathroom.
Yesterday, my Dad decided he would come and pick me up at a friend's house and surprise me with the dogs in the car. Though a short drive, on his way over, Juliette managed to open the back window and fell out right onto Highway 7. Not only did she suffer injury from impact from a fall out of a car going 60km/h, but she also rolled for a few meters and a car drove over her. We don't think the wheels hit her.
We brought her to the nearest vet right away, but they didn't have the facilities to do much, so we drove 45 minutes downtown in traffic to get her to an emergency vet. They have been such kind and helpful people so far.
Juliette is such a good girl. I think she thinks that she is a human. She will beg to be petted or picked up. She likes to sleep in laundry baskets and snuggles really really close to you. Practically on top of you. She always got so excited for meal time (who doesn't) and to go outside. She likes to eat food from the green bin and sneaks onto the table when she thinks no one is looking. She LOVED to give kisses. Even as I was holding her in the car on the way to the emergency vet, she kept giving me kisses even though she was shaking and in pain.
I love this little dog with all of myself. I don't think I have loved anything more than I love Juliette. She's got such a big personality. She was shy, but once you got to know her, she was such a loving dog.
She needs surgery for her spine, and we cannot go to anyone who is not a specialist for that, so it will be expensive no matter who we go to. She's got bruising on her right lung and cuts on her face; one had to be stitched closed. And the most significant thing is she won't, or can't, use her back legs at all.
At the moment, our financial situation is not looking good. The vet bills are very expensive; we've paid almost $10000 in fees until now. Not only that, but the chance of her walking again is very low. I will love and care for her no matter what, but I am hoping. Hoping for that small percent chance that she will be able to run around in the backyard at full speed because she's excited after going #2.
So I am asking you to please donate and help us to afford all the necessary bills to help her get through this. This devastated our entire family, and I can only hope you can empathize with us. If you choose to donate, I want to give you the sincerest and most genuine thank you from my family to you. I cannot express enough gratitude through this screen. We pray this comes back to you tenfold as good karma.
I really appreciate you reading this all the way through, even if you don't donate. Please share with family and friends and thank you so much. Any funds donated that reach above the surgery fee will be donated to animal shelters to help the animals in need.
Thank you again.
