Hello, It's not often I do this or even consider doing it myself, but I have a friend; she's been my friend for 40 plus years. Joan and I have kept in touch no matter where we are, no matter how busy. She's always there with her uplifting, happy voice and smiles like no other. Those who know her would know what I'm talking about.

When she comes into a room, she's like a box of skittles. She's worked hard her entire life. Nothing ever seemed to get her down. After seeing a few posts of hers, I knew something was so wrong in my heart.

A few months back, Joanie underwent knee replacement surgery; after surgery, her spirits were uplifting and optimistic; she worked hard in therapy to get back on her feet and back to a job she loves. She was walking with a walker and then a cane. Until she fell over something in her room and broke her femur bone on the same leg, she just had knee surgery on. We didn't know if she would lose that leg; she made it through surgery.

Thanks to God, she's been on the mend. Her doctor gave her a note to get back to work; all her disability has run out, all her time at work has run out, she cannot get unemployed because she's still working in the eyes of the employment law; her employer will not allow her to return to work with a walker or a cane. Unfortunately, she cannot walk without either; Joanie, like most of us, has no family to help her soon she will be evicted and homeless, I'm trying to make that not happen. All those who have a kind heart or know and love Joanie, can we all band together and give her time to heal to return to a job she loves. Ane, please, no negativity. She's tried all the avenues to help. Last night I spoke to my dear friend on the phone, and she sounds broken; she's mentioned not being here on earth. I can't tell you how that broke my heart. If I had the means to save her by myself, trust me, I would, but I don't. So now I"m reaching out to all of you, Humans, please, even if it's five bucks, Joanie would so very much appreciate anything...

Ok, well that's it, please help my beautiful, funny BFF. she just wants to go back to work.
