Help My Family Find Our Way Home

Our goal is $50,000, not because I am looking for anything extravagant, but because life does not stop just because you have been forced out of your home. The bills still come. The medications still have to be paid for. The children still need to eat, and life still has to continue.

Hi my name is Theresa, but many people know me as Tee Marie.
I am a mother, a caregiver, a mentor, and a woman of faith. I have always been the person who shows up for others, even when I am going through struggles of my own.

In July, my family's life changed unexpectedly when water caused extensive damage throughout three floors of our home. My children and I were forced to leave the place we call home and move into a hotel.

What I thought might be temporary has turned into months of uncertainty, waiting for our home to be repaired and trying to figure out how to keep everything together.

And the hardest part is that I am currently unable to work because of surgeries and recovery of my spinal cord due to Domestic Violence. While I am trying to heal physically, I am also carrying the emotional weight of trying to keep my family financially stable.

Nothing stops just because you are not there.

The mortgage and housing expenses don't stop. Utilities and other bills still come. Insurance, food, transportation, personal necessities, and everyday expenses continue. And while we are living in a hotel, there are additional costs that come with simply trying to maintain some sense of normalcy.

As most of you know, I am raising two incredible young men with special needs, and this experience has been especially difficult for them. Their home is their comfort zone. It is where their routines, belongings, familiar surroundings, and sense of security live.

Being away from home for this long has taken an emotional and mental toll on them. I can handle a lot when it comes to myself, but seeing my children hurting because they cannot simply go home is a different kind of pain.

They deserve their safe place back. They deserve their routines back. They deserve the comfort and stability of home, and as their mother, I am doing everything within my power to give that back to them. As a mother, it hurts deeply when you can see your children struggling, and you cannot simply fix the situation for them.

My oldest son is also dealing with health issues, and his medication alone costs $530 every month out of pocket. That is an expense I simply cannot put aside. When it comes to my child's health, there is no option to say, "We'll figure it out later." His health cannot wait, and making sure he has the medication he needs remains one of my greatest priorities.

But there is something I want people to know about me

Even in the middle of everything I am going through, I still find myself thinking about how I can help someone else.

That's just who I am.

I don't help people because I want recognition. I don't do it for fame. I don't do it for glory. I do it because I genuinely care.

God sees my heart. He knows my intentions. He knows that when I help someone, I don't need a spotlight or applause. He knows that the things I do for others come from a genuine place of love and compassion.

I've spent much of my life giving, encouraging, listening, caring, and showing up for others. Even now, when I am the one who needs help, I still find myself asking,

Maybe that's why asking for help is so difficult for me.

I am used to being the strong one. I am used to figuring things out. I am used to being the person people call when they need someone to listen, encourage them, or help them through a difficult moment.

But right now, I need someone to help me.

And I am learning that there is no shame in that.

I am asking for help so that I can focus on what matters most: healing, caring for my children, keeping my family together, and getting us back home.

If you can donate, please know that every single dollar matters. Whether it is $5, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can give, your generosity can help relieve some of the weight I am carrying.

If you cannot donate, I completely understand. Please consider sharing our fundraiser. You never know who may see it, who may be able to help, or whose heart God may touch through simply sharing our story.

And if all you can do is pray for us, please pray that my family can find peace in the middle of all this uncertainty.

I have faith that God sees us.

He sees the tears nobody else sees.
He knows the battles I don't always talk about.
He knows how hard I am trying.
And He knows my heart.

I believe this is only a chapter in my story—not the ending.

I am still standing.
I am still believing.
I am still praying.
I am still holding on.

And more than anything, I am praying for the day when I can finally look at my children and say:

"We're going home." ❤️

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Thank you for your prayers, your kindness, your generosity, and for every person who chooses to stand with my family during this difficult season.

May God bless you for helping us find our way home.
