Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out to you today to ask for your help in supporting me in going to Europe this summer. I am one of six athletes selected to go with USA cycling to a training and racing camp. We will spend 16 days there, staying in the Netherlands and doing 4 kermesse style races in Belgium. Part of the program involves working with USA cycling coaches to train me on what it takes to race at an elite professional level. This also includes physiology tests to see where I excel or may need to grow in different areas. I am confident that this trip will provide me with valuable learning opportunities, race experience, and friendships.

As you know, cycling is my passion, and I have been putting in a lot of effort and dedication towards training and racing. I believe that I have been gifted in a unique way and want to steward that well. I have worked really hard to earn money to pay for my cycling journey so far. This has included starting a window washing business with my brother, collecting recyclables from neighbors and friends, doing multiple roofing jobs, washing cars, doing yard work for people in the community, and lots of pet-sitting jobs.

I have been extremely committed to my training schedule and take bike racing very seriously. It takes a lot of work to balance training and racing with my academics at the same time. I am currently in all honors classes and have straight A’s. I am really excited at the opportunity to race in Europe this summer and look forward to all of the experience and knowledge I will gain. I am determined to give every effort of mine to pursue my dream of racing my bikes professionally in the future.
