Hi, my name is Armando, and even though I'm hesitant to start this campaign, our family is losing hope and options. There are two parts to this Go-Fund-Me, but last New Year's Day (2021), my father had a massive stroke, leaving him unable to speak and wheelchair bound. He was caregiving for my mother, who suffered a stroke in November of 2018, leaving her left side immobile and mentally incapable. They retired to Mexico in 2017 because they couldn't afford to retire in the US as their savings would stretch further in Mexico. The problem is that my father is the only one of them who speaks Spanish, and now he can't fulfill the role of caregiver, and with my mother's failing memory, he can't communicate their needs. We set them up in a facility in Mexico, but I have to fly to Mexico to check on them continually. The level of care they need and traveling back and forth has put a strain on their savings. They are currently back in the US momentarily, where Healthcare isn't as affordable but will still need physical therapy, and specialized doctor visits.
The second part of this fundraiser being, my sister passed in January of this year, leaving behind a 15-year-old son. His father is out of the picture, so the second part of this Go-Fund-Me is to help with legal fees to assure that he is in the care of one of us to make sure that he is spoken for, as far as medical and academic issues.
I know the goal amount of $20k seems like a lot but considering healthcare and legal fees, they're not far off base. Realistically, anything would help to prolong their quality of life. Thank you.
