On April 4, 2025 my dear friend Shelly suffered a spinal AVM ( in other words an aneurysm in the spine ). I’ve included some links to help understand a spinal AVM below.

This has been a life changing injury as it’s left her paralyzed in the legs as well as partial paralysis in both hands.

This injury has ended her job as a self employed cleaner and her livelihood.

Currently housed at Parkwood Hospital in the spinal cord injury unit she is receiving the very best care and therapy to help in her recovery.

We are raising money to help her with the cost of a power wheelchair, home care (that is not covered under OHIP), continued physiotherapy and any assistive devices she needs once home and living on her own with her two boys.

University hospital - Respiratory tube, feeding tube, induced coma, no feeling in her forearms/legs/waste. Very slow recovery from April to now, but the hospital staff and therapists are fantastic!

Oldest Sons graduation! We rented a wheelchair accessible van to travel from Parkwood to Woodstock and back! Great to get out in the motorized wheelchair!

Standing frame in physiotherapy. Helps with circulation and putting the body in a different position. Starting to gain strength in forearms and hands!
