Help my daughter Rebecca complete her education

A new term begins. Rebecca has been invited into school for the first week, in return for her contributions to teaching permaculture to the pupils and staff alike. We need to raise £200 for the rest of the term.

Our target is to raise approximately £200 per term to support Rebecca through her secondary education. 4 four-years of education = £2,400.

She is a bright girl with great potential and part of a supportive family, and her mother is a permaculture pioneer in her home district of Teso in Eastern Uganda.

"I am Aluka Deborah, a Permaculture teacher volunteering in our region (Teso), located in Eastern Uganda. I was a founder member of our regional permaculture program TAPA, which was inspired by, and grew out of our S39 permaculture design course in 2020.

The reason for my volunteering as a Permaculture teacher is because of the ardent zeal that I have towards nature, and given the location and the region where I am, that keeps on receiving little rain, propelling me now to equip my people with the knowledge of Permaculture that they may thrive even in unfavourable conditions.

As Permaculture says; "it starts with you, family members, and the community. Begin at the back door"

I have three children -- 1 boy and 2 girls, of whom two are in candidate classes and one is in Senior 3 -- Amongin Patience Rebecca. I majorly depend on Agriculture, and given the previous season, things were not all that good on my side because the rains didn't do us well.

The aim of this request is to help Amongin Patience Rebecca with ongoing tuition so that she can also reach certain levels in her education. Tuition in most of the schools in our country keeps on rising each and every year.

Amongin Patience Rebecca is a girl who has brought amusement into my life because of the things that she does at school. Here at home, I teach them together with some community members about Permaculture Ethics, and she has managed to do the same at her school -- sharing the same knowledge with her friends and teachers, and I am very happy that the knowledge of Permaculture is spreading, and she does this with passion.

The total is quite high, but the aim is to pay on term at a time.

This is the story.
Deborah Aluka.

Hi, Steve Jones here, pictured with my colleague Gerald.
Deborah has proven herself to be one of our best students and is now a teacher and community leader in permaculture, in her native Teso. We have met Rebecca on two occasions, and she is a bright girl who shares her mother's passion for teaching and sharing. She is destined to be an inspiration to her community just like her mother, Deborah.

Please support her if you are able. Supporting education is an investment in the future, one that will keep on benefiting the community in Teso, Uganda.

As S39, we offer a program of permaculture courses and volunteering opportunities.
