Help With Life Saving Cancer Treatment For Mother of 3

Hello everyone, I'm Sonia, the mother of my daughter Shana, who has had to endure a major and drastic challenge in her life. I would like to share her story with you… life can be so unfair sometimes. My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was just 8 years old, and it has been a constant struggle for us ever since. As a single parent, hearing the news of her diagnosis was devastating. Managing her diabetes and all the complications that come with it has been a daily battle.
My daughter is a wonderful mother/nan to her 3 children aged 11, 13 and 24 and granddaughter (age 2) whom she loves more than anything. Despite her own health struggles, she always puts her family first.
In addition to her diabetes, my daughter has faced numerous health challenges.
2 years ago, at the age of 40, she suffered a heart attack at home. Her children were the ones who called the ambulance. I can't imagine the fear and stress they must have felt at that moment. With nobody there at the hospital the doctors put a stent in her heart to help carry blood through and pump it around her body.
Unfortunately, my daughter has also been dealing with heavy bleeding for years due to fibroids, but her concerns were dismissed by doctors, until it was too late. It breaks my heart to see her suffering so much, both physically, mentally and emotionally.
Despite experiencing heavy bleeding for years, she was turned away from the hospital multiple times and sent home with painkillers. By this time she had received 16 blood transfusions over 3 months
The excruciating pain led my daughter to be rushed to the hospital, where she developed sepsis. It was at this point that the medical team decided to perform an emergency operation. 4 weeks following the procedure, my daughter was given the news that a biopsy had been conducted, revealing the presence of an aggressive cancer which has now become secondary.
The reason my daughter chose not to undergo chemotherapy is due to the toxicity of the medication and its side effects to her heart, which poses a significant risk given her existing heart issues and diabetes.
I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to ask for your support. During this difficult time I wish for my daughter to focus her energy on herself and family by making memories. We are facing a long and difficult road ahead as she battles this aggressive form of cancer.
As you can see, we’ve updated our title to better reflect our mission. We are on a journey to find the best possible treatment and are not giving up hope. We firmly believe that, with your support, we can reach our goal and secure the treatment we need. Thank you in advance for your generosity and encouragement. Your kindness and generosity will help us get through this challenging time and focus on my daughter's recovery and well-being.
Thank you for taking the time to read my daughter’s journey. Your support means the world to us.
