My name is Xena, and I'm fundraising on behalf of my dad, who is currently battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia - an aggressive form of blood cancer, that affects the bone marrows ability to produce healthy blood cells and platelets.

My dad has had to stop working - temporarily we hope - in order to receive treatment, and my step mum is unable to work because of her mental and physical health. They're getting all the help financially that they can, so that they can afford to pay their rent and all the household bills, while my dad is out of work, but it isn't enough to cover all the travel costs incurred so far. They were already on low income before this, so it has seriously kicked them financially.

My dad is a doting husband, a loving father and step father to 11 children, a wonderful grandad/bampi to 13 grandchildren who all love him immensely, and a loving and loyal son, brother and friend. He's kind, thoughtful, caring, loyal, and a lovable bear, but also a very proud man, who refuses to ask for help. So it's really taken him a lot to allow me to ask for this..

From a daughter, who only has one parent left in this life, and the rest of our family, we are asking if you could kindly help, by donating, as much or as little as you can!

How your funds will be used:

Travel costs ;

• Paying for fuel to get to his appointments - He will likely not be able to drive himself, so will have to rely on family and friends to get him to his appointments.

• Helping my step mum pay family/friends fuel costs so that she can be there every day to support him during his treatments, if she's unable to find more affordable accommodation.

Accommodation Costs ;

• My step-mum may need to get, in order to be a daily support for him during the treatments - depending on whether travel every day, or a hotel/b&b is more affordable.
