Please Help My Dad, Mike Szigeti❤️‍‍

Hello, my name is Sofie Szigeti, you might know me as ‘the triathlete.’

On September 3rd, while I was out training together with my dad, Zoltan Mike Szigeti, for my upcoming World Triathlon race, he got into a very serious bicycle accident. We were riding down the hills of Palos Verdes when a car pulled out of a side street, which made him brake immediately, causing him to fly over the handlebars and landing on the left side of his head.

He is in critical condition in the ICU at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center with a brain injury that has left him incapacitated. We are not sure how long my dad’s recovery will be, but the doctors and my family are hopeful. This has definitely been a very difficult and stressful time for my mom and I, and it has been especially hard for me since I was the one with him when the accident happened.

Given that my dad is self employed and he was our family’s primary source of income, if he can’t work after this, we are not sure how we will move forward…especially with me going off to college soon, too.

We truly appreciate all the positive thoughts, prayers, support and love you’ve given us but we would like to ask for your financial help as well as it will be a long recovery for my dad. Any funds collected will be used to take care of his hospital and rehabilitation bills.

My dad has always done everything from the goodness of his heart, and now it’s our turn to help him out!
