Hi, my name is Annmarie, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help on behalf of my cousin, Neil Roby, who is facing a devastating and urgent medical crisis.

In February 2024, at just 38 years old, Neil was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the bowel with metastases to the liver and lungs. Since then, he has endured multiple rounds of intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy, along with major liver and bowel surgeries. Through it all, Neil has shown incredible strength and determination to keep fighting.

Despite the challenges, Neil and his fiancée, Emily, held onto hope and love — they decided to get married in October last year after 18 years together, planning their wedding in just three months. Time was of the essence, and they wanted to create a joyful memory amidst the storm.

Until recently, Neil’s treatments were helping to hold the cancer at bay. But after a break due to infection, a recent scan showed the cancer has progressed. Although a second opinion supported continuing chemotherapy, the NHS has made the heartbreaking decision to stop all treatment.

While the treatment was never a cure, it gave Neil a fighting chance and quality of life. Our family’s appeals and formal complaints have sadly gone unanswered.

Now, private treatment is our only option. This includes urgent genetic testing to identify possible targeted therapies and consultations with a private oncologist. But the costs are overwhelming:

We are doing everything we can, but we need your help to give Neil a chance. This is about more than money — it’s about time, hope, and giving Neil a real shot at continuing his life with his wife Emily, his sister Louise, and all of us who love him deeply.
