Hello, my name is Tabitha and I need help with my cat Sherbert. I got him as a baby when someone dumped him on the side of the road and he’s been my special boy ever since. On Sunday evening he escaped outside and as I was about to grab him a loud noise scared him and he ran off. I tried looking for him all night but couldn’t find him. In the morning I was finally able to see in the trees and discovered him at the very top of an electrical pole. I tried calling him down, but he was too scared of the dog in the yard. I tried calling mlgw but they refused to come out saying they don’t prevent problems they just fix it when they happen. They said hopefully he doesn’t hit any wires when he falls down. I called the fire department but they said they don’t “do that stuff anymore”. My mom finally got in contact with a fire chief and to placate her he said he’ll send a truck to check it out. They never came. My sister and brother in law tried to help but he was stubborn and couldn’t come down. I was waiting outside for him all day and I suddenly I heard a loud pop and saw him fall. I ran as fast as I could thinking he died but when I got to him he looked and me and meowed. I scooped him up and ran as fast as I could to my car and sped away. I broke a lot of laws driving to the vet but I made it in time. They worked on Sherbert and he was saved. He has to stay in the emergency vet though and he has a tear in his little bladder from the fall and will need surgery. I just please need some help covering the cost of the surgery and the emergency vet. I don’t know what I would do if I lost my baby.

Update: I got word from his vet and the tear in his bladder is worse than they thought. The catheter they put in didn’t collect any urine. That means all urine is going into his stomach. He needs a bigger surgery than expected and the cost to stay in the hospital has jumped. Please help with anything you can.
