On September 13th 2025, tragedy struck when my brother’s family’s (Jacob Mitchell, Jessica Dowden, Anika Dowden) home caught fire. In just moments, they lost everything they had worked so hard for, along with countless memories built over the years.

By the grace of God, they made it out alive. My brother and his wife showed incredible bravery as they rushed to save their sweet daughter. In the chaos, my brother had to jump from a window, suffering serious injuries. All three—father, mother, and daughter—are now in the ICU battling the effects of smoke inhalation and other injuries. Their daughter is proving to be incredibly strong for her age, but the road ahead will be long.

This fire has left them with nothing—no clothes, no food, no safe place to call home. On top of that, their injuries will keep them from returning to work for some time, making it impossible to rebuild without help.

We are reaching out to friends, family, and anyone with a kind heart to ask for support. Every donation will go toward essentials like clothing, food, temporary housing, and eventually helping them find a new place to live.
