Hi, my name is Amar Atajic. Sulejman Atajic is my oldest brother. On Thursday, June 22nd, my brother Sulejman was involved in a horrible accident. Sulejman was in his car at his home in Des Moines, Iowa. Somehow the car exploded, and Sulejman was trapped in his car. Sulejmans neighbor pulled him out of the car and saved his life. Sulejman is currently suffering with 3rd degree burns to over 80% of his body. As of 7pm on June 23rd, Sulejman was given a 10% chance to live. Currently my parents, other family members, and Sulejman's Girlfriend and I are reaching out for prayers for Sulejman. Sulejman is an absolutely amazing father, uncle, and a friend. I'm doing this for Sulejman and his daughter Emina. Emina is his everything, and Sulejman is Eminas everything. I want Emina to have a father in her life.
Sulejman just got his CDL and was supposed to start his new job today (June 23rd 2023) He does not have health insurance as he did not start his new job. My family and I are asking for donations to cover his medical expenses. Please help the Atajic family get their loving, amazing father, brother, and uncle back! "FOR SULJO"
UPDATE 7/18/23
Suljo has gone through 6 skin graft surgeries since the incident and has one later this week. Doctors told our family he will be in Iowa City for the next three months, after that he will be transferred to either Cedar Rapids, or Waterloo at a rehabilitation center. Suljo, and our family would like to thank everyone who sent prayers and donations! We will try our best to keep you guys updated!
Update October 1st, 2023
After over a hundred days, countless surgeries, and rigorous ongoing physical therapies we are so proud to share that Sulejman has been transferred from IA City to rehabilitation in Waterloo. Each day he is getting stronger and learning to safely perform daily living tasks on his own. We anticipate him returning home within the next four weeks at which time he will begin outpatient physical therapy to promote flexibility and range of motion. The journey is still going to be long but his spirit is high, his strength is growing, and the ongoing support is truly a blessing. Thank you all for your time, support, prayers, and donations❤️
