Please help my best friend, help her best friend

Hello! My name is Marina, and I am fundraising for my best friend in the entire world, Ruby Langworthy.

If you know Ruby, her main sidekicks in life are her two dogs, Petey and Zoey. Her dogs are her life. She brings them everywhere she can. They go to the dog park daily and on cabin trips often. She gives her dogs the best life a doggo could have! Petey and Zoey are loved by everyone they come across with their infectious energy.

About a week ago, her pitbull Zoey became very ill. Zoey has always loved her food, so when she suddenly lost her appetite, that became an immediate red flag for Ruby. Zoey's typical joie de vivre had been dimmed, and she wasn't herself. Zoey was brought to her primary vet, put through all the conceivable tests you could think of in attempts to find out what was going on with her.

We were hoping that it would just be a matter of getting fluids in her, and everything would be ok. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. She continued to have little to no interest in food and was still not in her usual form. At this point, more tests were needed to see if there was a blockage or, worse, cancer. It's easy for a dog parent's mind to spiral and go to the worst possible scenario. This has been such a hard and sad time for our Ruby. She has been so strong.

Zoey had an ultrasound that was able to rule out specific diagnoses, but the vets were still unable to get a definitive answer as to why Zoey is feeling the way she is. She has spent multiple days, evenings, and overnights at an emergency vet when she is not at her primary clinic. Zoey continues to be monitored around the clock for progress. She is still being kept at the vet full time as of (9/30). They will give Zoey a feeding tube in hopes that the nutrients she has been deficient of for the past week will help her recovery.

This has been such a tough time for Ruby. Having to take her baby to multiple vets, put her through all these various tests, and see her suffer has been heartbreaking. Being a student and only working part-time, this has been a huge financial hardship for her. A positive note is that doctors are not telling Ruby to prepare for losing her best friend. They are eager to find out what is going on with her; however, that exploration comes at a cost that is very high for a student/bartender.

To know Ruby is to see firsthand how much she helps, loves and cares for every person in her life. This is our time to surround our girl that we love so much and help her with the unexpected costs of Zoey falling ill. She has gotten up to double digits (thousands)in vet bills this past week alone and still has a road ahead of her. Any donation is genuinely appreciated.
I can speak for Ruby when I say she is SO grateful for every single one of you.
