Please help mother of 4 boys with cancer medical bills

We created this fundraiser to help our good friend Martha Kruger. We hope by hearing their situation it will touch your heart.

Second update: 11 Feb 2025

Martha and her family have settled in WA, and they are all doing well under the circumstances. As we expected there are a lot of medical bills and expenses for Martha to get her treatment. She and her family are truly thankful to each one that has financially helped so far by donating to the fund. At this stage Martha gets radiation every day and chemo once a week.

Up until now we have paid bills to a total of $13 000. The outstanding amount for radiation that we still need to pay is $10 000.

We expect that there will be more medical bills to come, and we will update the story as we go. Please help by donating to this fund so that Martha can continue to get her treatment.

Even though this is a very difficult time for Matha, she keeps on smiling, enjoying life and staying positive.

First update: 8 Nov 2024

Johan, Martha and their 4 sons immigrated to Australia in 2023 hoping to create a better future for their kids. Even though they only came with their luggage, they were willing to start over and was hoping on a pathway to Permanent Residency. It was a bit more complicated with Johan's age.

One month ago, Johan received an opportunity for a job in an area where he can qualify for Permanent Residency. Unfortunately, Martha started feeling sick and experienced more and more pain. It came as a big shock to them, when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 uterus cancer, and it had spread to her lymph nodes. She had to undergo emergency surgery to get a hysterectomy and will need further chemo and radiation treatments.

Before the surgery Martha couldn't work anymore because of all the pain she experienced. As of now they already received medical bills of $9 000 for the surgery. They will definitely receive more bills for the chemo and radiation treatments, and she won't be able to return to work soon. Not to mention the relocation expenses they will have end of November, when they are moving from VIC to WA.

Martha is a ray of sunshine, with a beautiful caring heart. Her warm personality makes everyone around her feel valued and loved. Her passion to work with disabled people is inspiring. She always sees the best in everyone in every situation, with her bubbly and positive personality.

That is why we as her friends and family feel that it is now our turn to make Martha feel loved and cared for. We ask that you take our hand and together we can lighten their financial burden in this challenging time.
