Hi, my name is Chelsey, and I am in desperate need of help to get my best friend, Mooncake, a diagnosis and then a treatment plan. Mooncake is an 11 month old black & white domestic medium hair cat. Except, he’s not just a cat. He is my best friend, my baby, my entire world. I rescued Mooncake when he was about 4 weeks old. He was living outside, and had a very bad eye infection. I was just supposed to foster him, but the moment I held him, I knew he was mine. We healed his eye infection, and since then, he’s been a happy and healthy baby, up until today. Today, April 27th 2022, I woke him to him not being himself. He didn’t run up to greet me and get cuddles like he does every morning, so I knew something was wrong. I picked him up to hold him, and I noticed he felt very warm, and was shaking. I tried to give him some food, and he refused to eat. I immediately took him to the vet, and found out he had a dangerously high fever at 105.6 degrees. The vet is keeping him for the day, and will be running blood work, x-rays, IV fluids, and other treatments. He will have to be transferred to an emergency hospital tonight for continued care and IV fluids. I hate having to ask for help, but I can’t let anything happen to my baby. The estimate for just the first visit for diagnostics is over what I get paid every two weeks at my full time job. And we are having house repairs being finally done from a flood that destroyed 2 of our rooms back in September. This was a very unexpected emergency and I need all the help I can get. If you can spare even just $1, Mooncake and I would be forever grateful. Please help my sweet baby! (Estimate from today’s, April 27th, daytime visit is attached- $1,345.72. I do have the donation goal set higher because he will have to be transferred over to an emergency vet for hospitalization.). Thank you for you consideration! ❤️ Love, Chelsey & Mooncake
