Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to you on behalf of Monique Cunningham, a courageous single mom who is facing an incredibly challenging time. Monique is a devoted mother of two wonderful boys, aged 3 and 11, and she needs our help now more than ever.

Monique is my sister Sarah's favorite client, and she has inspired many in our community with her kindness and strength. She has been working tirelessly to support her family, balancing a full-time job as a cashier at Byrne Dairy and a part-time job as an online English tutor. She is incredibly dedicated to her work and is fortunate to have both jobs to return to once she is well.

Many of you know that Monique has been suffering from a seizure disorder for some time. We now know that these seizures are related to two astrocytomas—tumors in her brain. To relieve her symptoms, she requires two urgent surgeries: one to insert an external ventricular drain and another to resect the tumor. These surgeries are crucial to her health and well-being, but they also mean a long and difficult recovery ahead.

Astrocytomas can be life-changing and require immediate and ongoing medical care. While the prognosis varies depending on the type and grade of the tumor, early and effective treatment can significantly improve outcomes. This makes the upcoming surgeries critical not just for symptom relief but for her long-term health. However, the road to recovery is long and will require several months of rest, rehabilitation, and close medical monitoring.

During her recovery, Monique will not be able to work for 3-4 months. As a single mother, this puts her in a precarious situation, as she needs to cover her living expenses while she focuses on healing and taking care of her children.

What We’re Asking For:

We are seeking to raise $15,000 to support Monique during this tough period. These funds will go directly toward expenses including the following:

Rent: $925 per month

Food/Groceries: $1,000 per month

Utilities and phone bills: $300 per month

Childcare: $1000 per month

Laundry, clothing, hygiene, other incidental expenses: $275 per month

The funds raised will help her cover these essential expenses for approximately 3-4 months while she is unable to work and focuses on her recovery.
