Please help Mommy Gie

Mommy Virgie Mascareñas, mother of my friends Krystle and Vicente Dorotan was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis and has been in ICU for about a week. She is currently undergoing plasmapheresis and will undergo long term physical and occupational rehabilitation. Mommy’s breathing and her vitals are stable. This young couple were saddened that she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis and were informed recently that she would have partial quadriplegia — a paralysis that results to the loss of sensation and movement in both her lower extremities and her arms. The prognosis was also devastating as they were told that there is a very slim chance for recovery. Months and months of rehabilitation will be required. Mommy will require a hospital bed and wheelchair when she is well enough to be discharged from hospital admission.
Why do we want to help?
· Mommy Gie is in Canada to help her daughter, Krystle babysit now 2 yr. old Sammy born in September 2018, while Vicente and Krystle work in the health care system themselves as Pharmacist. It was an uncertain time for Krystle during her conception and premature birth of Sammy, but thank God Sammy is well as he was looked after Grandma Gie very lovingly-carefully!
· They are a family-oriented people of faith, love, hope, service, humility, and responsibility.
· Mommy Gie is currently on a Visit Visa, and here is an extract from an email exchange I had with Vicente and Krystle, “We must admit though that despite our faith, we as a family are currently struggling with the reality. As Mommy does not have a health card, and as the insurance we procured for her runs out, we will have to seek avenues and options to continue her care.“
· ICU daily charges for non-residents of Canada is about $15,000/day
· Mommy will require a Hospital bed, Wheelchair, PSW ($25-$38/hr), physio/occupational rehabilitation, maintenance medications (The lifetime cost of spinal cord injury in Ontario Canada )

What the family feel, hope and pray for:
· “Mommy is a very strong believer and her faith in God keeps her fighting spirit alight. We also firmly trust in the Lord that He will show us His miracles.”
· “We believe that God will make a way and will lead us in each decision that we will have to make. We humbly ask for your continued prayers”
· “This has been a very saddening and humbling experience for our whole family as we are left powerless by financial constraints. Any kind of support is crucial to our efforts to fight for every chance Mommy has for recovery irregardless of how slim it may be.”
I hope and pray we do not have to go to gofundme in need but a giver!
Please share to your contacts, families and friends.
Inspirational Readings:
Acts 20 :35 It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Acts 4:32-35 The Believers Share Their Possessions
32 The group of believers was one in mind and heart. None of them said that any of their belongings were their own, but they all shared with one another everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God poured rich blessings on them all. 34 There was no one in the group who was in need. Those who owned fields or houses would sell them, bring the money received from the sale, 35 and turn it over to the apostles; and the money was distributed according to the needs of the people.
Thank you and may God richly bless you and keep you in his care,
Johnny and Rosanna Mendoza
