As most of you know, my mother was hospitalized just before New Year's for nearly a month after suffering multiple heart attacks, stomach ulcers that had ruptured, amidst several other ailments at the same time. The doctors said she was lucky to be alive, even though they believe she may have died at one point when she had a stroke with all of the blood loss from the ruptured ulcers she suffered. But she still has a long road to recovery. All of the stress on her body has caused her to become extremely weak. She has to regain her strength, weight, walk with a walker, diet changes, eliminate stress as much as possible, as well as some other lifestyle changes along with physical therapy and a couple of surgeries on her heart and her stomach. She has yet to be cleared to go back to work. Now, if you know my mom, you know she loves her job more than anything, but she still has a lot to overcome. However, that doesn’t stop the bills from piling up.

With no money coming in since December 2024 when she last worked, we’ve done all we can as a family, but we are falling behind on the hospital bills, house bills, property taxes, vet bills, pet food, the mortgage, and even the everyday necessities.

After finally putting her pride aside, we are asking for help. There is no unemployment to be received, and we are at a standstill with social security for short-term disability. We wouldn’t be asking for the help if it wasn’t truly needed.

My mother is a hardworking, kind-hearted, good person who has made a positive impact in the community as well as many people's lives. You all know she would drop everything in an instant to help out with anything or lend you her last dollar if you needed it because she has. She needs your help now, our family needs your help now. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated. Obviously, we weren’t prepared for this or the last year with losing my house, money, and lots of belongings in a fire, which I am still hoping to rebuild from. But when family emergencies happen, you band together and help each other out. Unfortunately, I’m unable to help anymore since I just had a baby and I’m not currently working.

Life is difficult sometimes, but my mom taught me to find the positives in the negatives, even if you have to search for them, so you can keep putting good out in the world in hopes of brightening someone’s day, even if ours may be dark, so that the good can come back to you.
