Hello. I am starting this GoFundMe because I don’t know what else to do. I was diagnosed with severe lymphedema about 3 years ago. This past year, my symptoms have escalated so much that I can no longer work. I lost my pharmacy technician job of 23 years with Walgreens last June and then my apartment in August. I experienced homelessness for a few months while trying to manage my illness.

My brother and I decided to move in together so that we could share the rent and bills. I found a job and for a few months, I had an income, but my lymphedema worsened and I missed a lot of work due to wound care appointments and hospitalizations. I lost this job as well. I became sicker and sicker. I went through several rounds of IV antibiotics through a PIC line at home, but insurance refused to cover the full course of either one and this caused me to have a severe infection in both legs.

Finally, I was required to be hospitalized for a full month to receive 2 IV antibiotics and daily wound care changes. Through all this, I have used up all my savings. I am behind 3 months rent and bills. All Fatima and my belongings are in a storage locker that I will lose due to non-payment. My bank account is negative and my phone will be shut off in 5 days. I didn’t reach out because I was embarrassed and depressed but now I am really scared. I have applied for social security but it could take several more months. Please help if you can.
