My name is Giuseppe Notarbartolo, and I am a marine conservation ecologist based in Italy. The funds I wish to raise are to support my friend and colleague Mohammed Abudaya, who was a professor of ichthyology in Gaza before the war. Mohammed has now returned to his former home, only to find a pile of rubble. As he, his family, and their community strive to recreate a living space, securing water supply is one of the greatest challenges he faces. To achieve this, he requires financial assistance to construct a well. The water he will acquire will not be suitable for drinking, but will be adequate for domestic purposes and is desperately needed. I will collect donations here in Italy and send him the funds through remittances to his bank account in Gaza. On previous occasions, I have verified that Mohammed can collect my transfers from ATMs that are still in operation where he lives.
