Update 29/08/26:

A VERY IMPORTANT MISSION MINDY UPDATE

We have some incredibly difficult news to share about our beautiful Mindy.

When we started fundraising, our hope was to raise enough money for Mindy to see the specialist, have the necessary investigations and, if possible, undergo spinal surgery.

Sadly, we have now been advised that surgery is not an option for Mindy because of the severity of her condition.

This is absolutely devastating news for us, but it does NOT mean that Mindy no longer needs veterinary care.

In fact, her care is now going to be a long-term commitment.

The money raised through Mission Mindy will therefore be used towards her ongoing veterinary and specialist care, including consultations, medication, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, appropriate treatments, mobility equipment, specialist equipment and harnesses, puppy pads, wipes, bedding and the many other things she needs to keep her comfortable, clean, safe and happy.

We want to be completely transparent with everybody who has supported Mindy.

Hi, I’m so sorry for needing to ask this of people, especially given the money we have frivolously spent in the past! However I have been retired with ill health for the past 4 years and we are currently selling everything we own just to pay bills.

our beautiful dog Mindy has recently had an accident and damaged her spine, we have been quoted a min of £6,500 for her to have emergency surgery on her back in the hope of getting her back to any sort of recovery. We are really desperate as she means the entire world to us and it’s heartbreaking to see her in so much constant pain. We have her on crate rest currently but now been told that will not resolve her issues.

I really don’t know how these things work but we are at the end of our resources and capability of raising any other funding. Selling our items online is taking so long and my wife has already sold nearly all of her jewellery bless her.

If there was another way we would do anything, we’ve had a million pieces of advice from vets, friends, online and Dachshund groups, sadly now all exhausted with no options left.

I don’t care if this is embarrassing any longer as I will do whatever I can to get her comfortable.
