Please help Millie get to Laine!!

Hi, thank you for clicking on this link, please hear me out and get to know me a bit!

I’m Millie, an 19 year old aspiring musical theatre performer, with dreams of going to top drama school Laine Theatre Arts.

I started dancing the week of my 3rd birthday and found my first love. From there on I found my voice and my passion for musical theatre!

I decided after my GCSE’s that this is the career that I wanted so went on to Dancebox Studios and Theatre Works to begin my training and the last two years have been incredible!

 

Since December 2021 I’d been auditioning for top London drama schools in a hope to continue my training, and in that December, I got the amazing news that I had gained a place at Laine Theatre Arts which was a dream come true! Many of my biggest inspirations trained at Laines and as soon as I knew it existed I have dreamed of one day attending myself.

 

Laine Theatre Arts receive thousands of applications from not only the UK but across the world, this year more than ever. However, Laines is an independent school which, for the nature of its course, doesn’t make it eligible for a student loan or grant. I was also unsuccessful in gaining a DaDA so I have been left to fund my training alone. The annual fees go just over £18,000 each year for the duration of the 3 year course, plus finding accommodation in London, which doesn’t come cheap!
So I am finding it difficult to find a solution to the large fees, and cannot fund this alone, as if you know me, my family has my 4 other siblings to support and since my dad suffered a severe heart attack during the pandemic, the family run business has been under huge strains, with our household income halved. My training cannot be a priority although I am so unbelievable grateful for all support they can give me!

 

In our attempts to raise support, and awareness of the reality of going to drama school and fulfilling your dreams, I have followed many others in creating this page to seek support. I also work three jobs alongside being a current full time student, and I am saving every penny I can, but I obviously still have bills to pay!

 

It would mean more than anything if you could donate - however little or not, anything you are able would mean the world! Even just sharing this page would mean so much and be extremely appreciated.
