Just weeks ago, Mikayla became seriously ill with a kidney infection. Determined not to let it slow her down, she continued pushing through, until the infection worsened and turned into sepsis, spreading into her bloodstream. She was hospitalized for several days, and while she initially responded to antibiotics and was discharged, her recovery has not gone as hoped. Since returning home, she has struggled to respond to treatment, and her health continues to fluctuate.

At the same time, Mikayla had recently begun a new job where she quickly proved herself to be an invaluable asset. Unfortunately, because she hasn’t been there long enough, she does not qualify for paid leave. This leaves her facing an overwhelming situation - battling a serious illness while also worrying about missed work, mounting bills, and caring for her two children.

Mikayla needs the time and support to focus fully on her recovery, but right now, the stress of daily responsibilities and financial pressure is weighing heavily on her.
