Please Help Michael K

Michael was diagnosed with Multiple myeloma over 19 years ago but he has outlived his dire prognosis by over 15 years. During that time he has run an auto repair business and become a respected member of his community in northern MD. 

The treatment for his cancer has taken a toll on his body, specifically his heart. Several months ago doctors implanted a cardioverter-defibrillator in his chest to keep him alive.  His physical condition has inhibited his ability to work, and he subsequently lost his home. His entire set of mechanic's tools, which number in the hundreds (and appraise for a small fortune) were stolen. He has been surviving through the kindness of friends, and the occasional mechanic work plied with borrowed tools. The money from this fund will allow Michael to pay his back taxes so he can qualify for disability and other assistance programs. 

I have not spoken with my cousin much over the years save for the occasional holiday text session. I learned about his plight by pulling this information out of him, and ultimately contacting his friend Kevin. Kevin has helped Michael in numerous ways, taking time from his work and family.

I am starting this go fund me to allow his family and other friends to help Michael in his time of need.  Michael is very proud, and would not ask us directly. He really wants to get a kick start so that he can work his way back into solvency and live the remaining days he has with a meaningful quality of life.
