Please Help Michael Fight Against ALS

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of Lisa and her husband, Michael Imbrenda. Lisa came into our lives a few years ago when she worked in a class with my son. My son was immediately drawn to her warmhearted nature and nurturing demeanor. I can never thank Lisa enough for creating such a safe space and a loving environment for my autistic son. Many of you may know Michael and Lisa. Lisa has worked in the LEH school system for 20 years, currently working in an autistic classroom and as a bus aide for special needs children. Michael was employed at Anchor Appliance, a job that he loved, a job that he held for 35 years, but a job that he could no longer hold due to his diagnosis. On January 12, 2024, Lisa's husband, Michael, was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Medication and therapy can slow ALS and reduce discomfort, but there's no cure. Without being able to work, Michael now must rely on Social Security Disability to pay for housing, food, medical needs, transportation to and from medical appointments, and the list goes on. As one can imagine, $1300 a month is not enough. Michael requires a full time health aide (which Medicare does not cover) that he has not yet been able to attain. He is unable to afford the care he truly needs, as SSD is his only income. Two selfless people, with the biggest hearts, always ready to help the next person, need our help. If you can, please donate to help Michael and Lisa navigate through daily challenges and adjustments during such a difficult time.
