Jim Land was a gregarious guy who constantly made people laugh. He was the kind of guy who built friendships that lasted a lifetime. He had a way of ingratiating himself with people and disarming them with laughter.
Jim passed away July 26, 2021 after a long battle with an aneurysm and blood clots. Thankfully, his passing seemed to be relatively painless and was very quick. The medical staff said there was a therapist in his room Monday evening. Jim was cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. The therapist stepped out of the room for six minutes, and upon returning found Jim had passed.
Jim passed away in Smyrna, Tennessee. His mother, Jan had recently relocated to Humansville, Missouri. As a disabled senior, Jan has no resources to take care of Jim's final expenses, and he had no life insurance policy or assets of any kind. The most basic of arrangements cost roughly $2,500. This would provide Jan with some sense of closure after the loss of her firstborn son.
