Melvi, also known as Bheng, was diagnosed in April 2024 with what later turned out to be a very aggressive Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). With her faith in God and steadfast hope of recovery, she bravely endured all the rigors of cancer treatment - chemotherapy, radical bilateral mastectomies, radiation treatments, and resulting open sores/ burns from radiation.
Her goal was to return to a normal happy family life, help her patients and reunite with her work family. As a first time Physical Therapist having only been licensed in the United States in this field for 3 1/2 years she looked forward to making good use of her new therapy skills as well as the opportunity to augment their family income. Unfortunately with all the time spent on cancer treatments, Melvi only worked 3 weeks in the past seven months.
On Feb 5 Melvi was admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath for the second time that week. with the ultimate discovery that the cancer had metastasized to her blood, bones, lungs, and liver. Although initially given three weeks to live, God's plans for her were different and she passed away on February 10th
We all knew Melvi as a kind, loving person with a warm smile and a generous heart. She had strong culinary skills much enjoyed by family and friends. She left behind her devoted husband Ron, five-year-old daughter, Claudia (Clauie), mother Claudia and other beloved family members in the Philippines. They had not too long just settled in their dream home when this was all taken from her at age 47. She had many plans which unfortunately did not come to fruition, especially the chance to see her daughter grow up.
You are kindly asked to pray for the repose of Melvi's soul and for strength for Ron and Clauie during this incredibly difficult time. Additionally, if you are able to assist the family with their financial burdens such as medical bills and funeral expenses, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
