Aloha friends and family,

 

My name is Mel Arellano, or as many of you know me as Mr. A. I am currently retired from the First Hawaiian Bank where I was the executive chef in the Executive Dining Room (now Bankers’ Club) for 30 years. I have always been involved in the hospitality and food service industry, whether it be in various hotels, teaching at Kapi’olani Community College and Leeward Community College and Catering.

 

As many of you already know, I have been dealing with issues with my kidneys, where I have been going to kidney dialysis three times a week.

 

I have been blessed to be placed on the priority list for a kidney transplant in San Francisco where I could get called at any time. I’ve been told that if all goes well, the recovery time would be 4-6 weeks in San Francisco. Although my health insurance is covering most of the cost of the transplant, much of it isn’t and this is why I am humbly asking for your support.
