Please Help Me With The Aftermath of a House Fire
Donation protected
Early Monday morning around 3:00am my youngest daughter noticed a fire burning below her bed bunk. Thankfully she was awake and quickly jumped up and ran out the room screaming “fire”. I practically sprung out of bed and rushed into the kitchen, collecting as many pots and filling them up with water as fast as I could using the faucet from the bathroom right next to the burning room. At this point, the entire room and hall it was connected to was in flames. I woke up my son from his room opposite of the hall and he was able to take the rest of his siblings out the house.
I continued to try to put out the fire with the water but the flames were just growing higher and higher. I was starting to feel defeated. The smoke in the house was so thick, I could hardly see or breathe. As my last attempt I began using my hands and feet to try stomping out and swatting the fire. It was seeming to work! I continued until all the fire was out and only then did the fire rescue arrive.
Currently my children and I have no place to stay. My hands and legs are lined with blistering burns, but we are safe. The house is no longer inhabitable due to its lingering carbon monoxide and it is likely to take weeks for professionals to come in and clean / refurbish the entire place.
Any help at all is much appreciated,
God Bless
