Please help me with my solicitor’s bill

Hello friends

I never thought I would ever need to ask for financial help but here we are.

As you may know, I found out in March 2022 that my husband/partner of 26 years was cheating on me, and had other inappropriate relations with other work colleagues over the previous 10 years.

He had been lying to me, disrespecting me and manipulating me. He had belittled me at every opportunity and mentally abused me. (That I realised only a few months ago in therapy…)

He has physically assaulted me in October 2023 and was removed from our home from the police.

Since March 2023 I have been living in a rented accommodation whilst he has been living at his parents.

As I am not earning due to my Vascular EDS condition, which manifests itself daily with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, swelling joints etc…he has been paying for the flat and bills as the law requires.

He has been very erratic with other expenses and has constantly put me in a begging position to be able to buy food and paying the many vet bills for my two senior dogs.

We tried mediation but had to stop as he was lying to the solicitor in charge and was still behaving in a controlling and non negotiating way.

He agreed to meet up last Friday to draw a proper monthly budget for me, which was my condition to re start the mediation. We did that but on Monday he didn’t put the agreed amount.

He cannot be relied upon so my last resort is now to go to court.

My solicitor’s firm requires an advanced payment of £5000 before they can start the process. The estimate thereafter is between £5000 and £20000.

I do not have that sum as the money I earnt from marking the GCSEs (the only job I hold and can do) I gave to my mum who had previously lending me €14000 for my therapy and daily spendings which the ex refused to pay for (phone bill, toiletries, my French doctor and meds…).

I am desperate to start this process and find myself at a dead end with no money.

This is why I am doing this go fund me, so you can help me pay for my solicitor. I have really no choice but to go to court, this divorce has been dragging on for too long and every interaction with the x affects my mental health badly. I need closure asap.

If you can help me please please do so, even a few pounds, everything counts.
